NovoCare Pharmacy Overview

Brand-name, FDA-approved

NovoCare Pharmacy is Novo Nordisk's direct-to-patient channel, the semaglutide counterpart to Lilly's LillyDirect. Novo launched it in March 2025 to bring every dose strength of Wegovy to cash-paying patients at $499 a month with home delivery, well under the roughly $1,350 list price.

Pricing has since become dose-tiered and considerably cheaper at the low end. Novo's published self-pay guide lists $149 per month for the 1.5 mg and 4 mg strengths, and $299 per month for 9 mg and 25 mg — figures that reflect the oral Wegovy tablets as well as the injection.

Like LillyDirect, this is a pharmacy rather than a program. It solves authenticity and price; it does not provide the clinician, the coaching or the accountability.

Medications Offered

  • Wegovy (semaglutide) injection — all dose strengths
  • Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide) for chronic weight management
  • Ozempic (semaglutide) for type 2 diabetes

Brand-name or compounded?

FDA-approved brand-name Novo Nordisk products only. No compounded semaglutide is sold or dispensed through NovoCare Pharmacy.

How the Program Works

Consultation process

None provided. You need a prescription from your own healthcare provider, who sends it to NovoCare Pharmacy. Novo confirms receipt by text.

Eligibility

Per the FDA label for chronic weight management: adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition. Self-pay pricing requires that you are paying cash rather than billing insurance.

Provider involvement

None from Novo Nordisk. Your own prescriber manages dosing, titration and monitoring; NovoCare Pharmacy only dispenses.

Lab requirements

Not applicable. Any monitoring is arranged by your prescriber.

Pharmacy fulfillment

NovoCare Pharmacy, operated as Novo Nordisk's own direct-to-patient dispensing channel.

Shipping and frequency

Free home delivery on all dose strengths. Semaglutide requires refrigerated cold-chain shipping at 2-8°C (36-46°F) — see our storage and shipping guide before your first delivery.

Support services

Pharmacy support and shipment scheduling through NovoCare. Novo also runs a separate savings offer program for commercially insured patients.

Fees, Cancellation and Coverage

Membership fees

None. NovoCare Pharmacy charges per fill, with no subscription or platform fee.

Medication fees

The published self-pay price for your dose strength, which changes as you titrate. Note the 4 mg promotional price expires August 31, 2026.

Cancellation policy

Nothing to cancel — you are buying fills, not subscribing. Stop reordering at any time.

Refund policy

Dispensed prescription medication generally cannot be returned. Contact NovoCare Pharmacy for damaged, delayed or temperature-compromised shipments.

Insurance

Self-pay pricing is for cash-paying patients. Separately, Novo runs a savings offer that can bring eligible commercially insured patients to as little as $25 a month. From July 1, 2026, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program covers Wegovy in both injection and tablet form at $50 a month for eligible beneficiaries.

HSA / FSA

Yes. FDA-approved prescription medication for a diagnosed condition is a qualified HSA and FSA expense.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • +Manufacturer-direct, so authenticity and cold-chain handling are not in question
  • +$149/mo for the 1.5 mg and 4 mg strengths is far below the roughly $1,350 list price
  • +Free home delivery on every dose strength
  • +No membership, subscription or platform fee of any kind
  • +Both the Wegovy injection and the newer Wegovy tablets are available
  • +Eligible for the $50/mo Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program from July 1, 2026

Cons

  • You must already have a prescription — NovoCare does not provide clinicians
  • No coaching, nutrition support or dose-titration guidance
  • Pricing is dose-tiered, so costs climb as you escalate
  • The 4 mg promotional price ends August 31, 2026 and rises to $199/mo
  • Novo Nordisk products only — no tirzepatide, so no Zepbound or Mounjaro

Who It May Be Best For

Best for

Cash-paying patients who already have a semaglutide prescription from their own doctor and want the lowest verified price on genuine Wegovy with free delivery.

Limitations to weigh

NovoCare Pharmacy cannot start you on treatment. If you do not already have a prescriber willing to manage GLP-1 therapy, you need a telehealth platform or a primary care physician first, and then you can route the prescription here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Wegovy cost through NovoCare Pharmacy?

Novo's published self-pay guide lists $149 per month for the 1.5 mg and 4 mg strengths and $299 per month for 9 mg and 25 mg, with the injectable self-pay price listed at $399 per month. The 4 mg offer runs to August 31, 2026, after which that strength is $199 per month. The program originally launched in March 2025 at a flat $499 per month for all doses.

Do I need a prescription for NovoCare Pharmacy?

Yes. NovoCare Pharmacy only dispenses — it does not employ prescribers. Your healthcare provider sends the prescription to NovoCare, and you get a confirmation text.

Does NovoCare Pharmacy ship Wegovy for free?

Yes. Novo advertises free home delivery straight to your door on all dose strengths. Because semaglutide requires refrigeration at 2-8°C, deliveries arrive in validated cold-chain packaging.

Can I use insurance with NovoCare Pharmacy?

The self-pay prices are for cash-paying patients. Separately, Novo runs a savings offer that can bring eligible commercially insured patients to as little as $25 a month. From July 1, 2026, eligible Medicare beneficiaries can get Wegovy for $50 a month through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program.

Does NovoCare Pharmacy sell compounded semaglutide?

No. NovoCare dispenses only FDA-approved Novo Nordisk products. Novo Nordisk has been publicly opposed to compounded copies of its semaglutide products.

Can I get Zepbound from NovoCare Pharmacy?

No. Zepbound is tirzepatide, made by Eli Lilly. NovoCare carries only Novo Nordisk medications. For tirzepatide, use LillyDirect.
